Privacy

Tare is built so that your bank statements never leave your device. This isn't a promise we ask you to take on faith — it's how the product works.
Your statements
When you open a PDF in Tare, the file is read and parsed entirely inside your own web browser using local code. The contents of your statement — account numbers, balances, transactions — are never sent to us or to any third party, are never stored on a server, and never leave your computer. When you close the tab, that data is gone. We could not access your statements even if we wanted to, because they are never transmitted.
What we do receive
Like any website, our host may log standard, non-identifying request information (such as page views) to keep the service running. If you buy a license, our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) processes your purchase and your email; we receive your order details from them, not your card information. Activating a license sends only the license key for validation — never any part of a statement.
Third-party code
Tare loads three open-source libraries (for reading PDFs and writing spreadsheets) from a public code CDN. These are program files, not data channels; your statement contents are not part of those requests.
